Food Deliver Driver- Wanted

Red Earth is an organisation dedicated to connecting youth from cities with remote Indigenous communities to gain a greater understanding of Indigenous culture. This is done through providing a 9-10 day cultural Immersion experience were participants travel to a series of homelands and connect directly with Traditional Owners. For this to be successful and on-going Red Earth along with the cultural experiences, needs to provide equipment and food of a high quality to ensure each Immersion has a lasting impact of the participants. This work is undertaken by the logistic support role. The purpose of this role is to support Red Earth Immersions on the ground with logistical support and collection and delivery of food. Core responsibilities include: Take direction and report directly to Operations Manager and Cape York Regional Manager. Collect food orders from IceWorks and Foodwork Cooktown, checking qualities and items are correct. Pack food and ice into company coolers. Deliver allocated food to the allocated group. Collect empty coolers from the group and return them to Cooktown. When required pack Immersion equipment in Cooktown storage facility prior to groups arrival. Requirements for the position: Position is casual and is required during the June- July and September- October school holiday periods. Some days may fall out of this. Person needs to be flexible with dates and able to work around 15+ day in these periods. Willing and able to obtain a Queensland Blue Card (Working with Children check). Must hold a current drivers license Own and willing to use personal vehicle to deliver food to Wujal, Buru (China Camp), Rossville, Laura and Hope Vale. Flexible and reliable worker and able to keep to a provided schedule. Be able to follow instruction and timeframes, while still be able to use your own initiative. Responsible and able to look after company equipment. Keen to contribute towards the Red Earth program. Pay Package: Wage paid at $22.86 per hour. Kilometres and fuel paid at $0.66 per km. Logbook will supplied and used to track amount of km’s driven and to be reimbursed. Position will be for 15+ days June- July and September- October holiday time.
